7.3 EXP - The IT Episode: The Sandown Clown and Imposter Entity Encounters

What if the things that creep us out aren’t just in our heads—but a clue to something far older, far stranger, lurking in the shadows of human perception? In 1973, two kids on England’s Isle of Wight met a seven-foot-tall robot clown entity named Sam. A strange afternoon to be sure. He had no neck, Paper-white skin, three fingers on each gloved hand and three toes to match. He spoke through a strange microphone in the forest, becoming them to come with him to his strange metal hut. Then he He handed them a cryptic message—

“Hello and I am all colours Sam”.

What was this Sam? if that indeed was his name. What did he want. We’ll explore this classic bizarre case and then rip the Jack right out of his box to peer inside at terrifying stories of floating umbrella clowns, burning clowns out for revenge, Stalking clowns and more!

And in honor of Jon’s birthday, this is our “That reminds me of IT” episode!

If there’s a dark power that clowns do possess - it’s their ability to straddle the uncanny valley—wield it like fear flame - the primal revulsion we feel when something’s almost human… but not quite. Clowns straddle that line. Their frozen smiles hide intentions. Their grotesque makeup mirrors disease, death, and decay. So what are we really seeing? A shapeshifting trickster? A hive of interdimensional mimics? Or proof that the oldest fears wear the brightest disguises?

When you become clown, you become un-human - you’re already human, but when you dawn the clownfit, you alter yourself ... shift beyond human. You become the uncanny. Not quite human, human-modified, existing in the uncanny liminal where you may embody or manifest something inhuman, and where curiosity can slip quickly terror…..
